He has gained alot in the media lately, only because of his fundraising. On Guy Folkes Day, Nov. 5, his guys raised 4.7 million, not bad. all over the internet. He is gaining more and more respect by the media. But are the American people listening?
No they are not! They are, however, listening to the crap the media is feeding them about Mitt and Rudy, the big two; then they mention Huckabee and McCain as outside chances. But unfortunately for the media, Paul and his entourage just keeps plugging along and raising money.
Me? I like Paul's style, he is confrontational and committed to what he says. That is something sadly missing in the leaders of the pack. But I have a problem with a few of his stands. Like his vote on SCHIP, his stand on Social security and medicare. Those are major issues for me so that would preclude me ever voting for Paul.
IMO, Paul deserves more exposure than he is getting from the media. If I were him and I became a front runner, none of them would get access to me or my people. Pay back is a bitch!

Unfortunately, people are NOT listening. People associate Ron Paul with Libertarianism, and that scares a lot of people. But that's not all--people want charisma and/or lineage. Giuliani has the kind of charisma that republicans seem to eat up. Hillary Clinton has the kind of charisma that democrats seem to eat up.
The more I've thought about it, the more I realize that it may not just be media that is pushing these kinds of things onto the public. It may not be people I know and hang out with, but the people I know and hang out with think about things on a deeper level than that. Maybe that sounds snooty or even cliquish, but I don't really have any friends that just don't think about anything. I've met plenty of people who don't think about anything.
I can't even fathom the idea of "thinking about nothing". I don't understand that concept--it makes no sense to me. To others, it's how they relax.
I think in a lot of cases, when people say they think about nothing, they really mean that they are in a mode or want to be in a mode where they don't care what they think about--but maybe I'm wrong--maybe people really *can* think about nothing. What is the sound of one hand clapping? And a side order of descrambled eggs, thanks.
Anyway--I think the mentality that goes more by someone's persona and/or their lineage, probably without even thinking about it--it's subconscious like the way that commercials affect people (which is why there's so much study done for each commercial that you see on TV). People are herded by imagery and sound bytes.
Wow, the second to the last sentence wasn't finished--after the ) should have continued to say:
is what seems to permeate the most in the herd-like mentality of society at large.
------
and the phrase
"the mentality that goes more by"
should read
"the mentality that would choose a president more by"
